Valencia Park · Tradition · Port St. Lucie
Natural Designs transformed an open section of backyard lawn into a defined landscape that follows the screened outdoor-living area and frames the lakeside setting. The completed design combines structured planting, sweeping bed lines, charcoal slate stone and a practical stepping-stone route.

From Lawn to Landscape
The project began with grass removal throughout the new landscape footprint. Natural Designs shaped the bed layout to create flowing lines around the backyard enclosure while retaining a balanced transition to the surrounding lawn.
Complete Design and Installation
Natural Designs created the layout and selected, supplied and installed every plant and project material. The planting plan combines strong focal foliage, repeated low-growing forms and upright screening plants to bring structure and depth to the backyard.

Slate Stone and Defined Edging
Metal landscape edging establishes the curved bed boundaries and cleanly separates the slate-stone surface from the lawn. Weed barrier was installed beneath the stone before the charcoal slate was placed across the completed beds.
A Stepping-Stone Route
A sequence of natural stepping stones creates a practical route through the slate near the side gate. The contrasting stone tones make the route easy to follow while keeping it integrated with the broader backyard design.

A Finished Backyard Setting
The completed installation turns the former grass area into a cohesive landscape beside a homeowner-installed backyard patio and sitting area. Curved edges, layered plantings, slate texture and the stepping-stone path now work together as one connected outdoor setting.
